The Hardware Binding Manager was originally located in the UI widget, but it has now been moved to a dedicated page inside the EFB’s Legacy app.

See the image for the current layout. The new page works similarly to the previous version, with several additional features.

To assign a control, select ASSIGN next to the function you want to bind, then press the desired joystick button or keyboard key. The assignment will be saved automatically and restored the next time you load the aircraft. To remove an individual assignment, select CLEAR.

Keyboard assignments are supported for toggle switches, momentary controls, selector switches, event-based controls, and rotary knob increase or decrease functions. When a keyboard key is assigned to a rotary knob function, hold the key down for continuous movement.

TWO-POSITION SWITCHES

Toggle controls can be configured for either a normal push-button assignment or a physical two-position hardware switch.

For a normal push-button assignment, leave TWO-POSITION SWITCH unchecked. Each press of the assigned button or keyboard key will alternate the control between ON and OFF.

For a physical two-position switch, select TWO-POSITION SWITCH. Separate ON and OFF assignment rows will appear. Assign the hardware switch’s ON position to the ON row and its OFF position to the OFF row.

An existing normal assignment must be cleared before two-position mode can be enabled. Both the ON and OFF assignments must be cleared before the control can be returned to normal toggle mode.

RESET ALL BINDINGS

RESET ALL BINDINGS is provided as a recovery option in case you need to completely start over or correct a damaged binding save state.

Selecting RESET ALL BINDINGS opens a confirmation window. You must confirm the reset within five seconds or the window will close automatically.

Confirming the reset removes all saved joystick and keyboard assignments, clears all two-position switch selections, clears the active hardware binding slots, and returns the page to its default state. The reset may take several seconds to complete.

Not every function on this page is required, since many controls can still use the default Microsoft Flight Simulator bindings. However, some of the newer systems in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are not yet fully supported by the default hardware binding system, especially when using modern electrical and fuel-system features.

Because of this, Flysimware has provided its own dedicated bindings so that, when combined with the default simulator bindings, every important function in the aircraft can be assigned.

We strongly recommend using the Flysimware bindings for systems such as so there is animations:

• Fuel selector and fuel-pump
• Aircraft lighting and rotary lighting controls
• Lever controls


Many of these functions do not exist in the default binding menu, or the default assignments may not operate them correctly. Using the bindings on this page ensures that the aircraft’s custom systems respond as intended.
